The principle of "menstruation" in dogs is different from that of humans

Human "menstruation" is the endometrial shedding and bleeding under the influence of hormones, while the "menstruation" of female dogs means that the endometrium does not fall off. Those red secretions are bloody mucus penetrated by thickened uterine epithelial cells. 

Dogs will conceive during menstruation, but people will not

Dogs come to "menstruation" to indicate ovulation, during which mating will conceive, but people do not ovulate during menstruation, so they will not get pregnant!

Different cycles

Dogs’ "menstruation" does not come every month. It occurs twice a year, with an interval of about 6 months, and each lasting 21 days (generally, an interval of 4-8 months is considered normal. Older dogs may have more intervals. long).

In general, the dog's "menstruation" indicates estrus and conception. It has nothing to do with what we usually call menstruation. This stage is called estrus, and this "menstruation" is called estrus bleeding!

If you are going to make your dog pregnant, then...

• Do not let the female dog mate during the first heat. In the first heat, the bitch is too young and the eggs released are not yet mature. If pregnant, it may lead to dystocia and weakness in the newborn dog. In contrast, mating after a year and a half (second or third heat) is a more reasonable choice.
• It needs to find its favorite half in the early stage of estrus.
• Try to let the dog mate during the middle of the heat. Record the date when the estrus begins, and try to let the dog mate in the middle of the estrus for the highest chance of conception.
• If the female dog and the male dog mate during this period, the owner must be psychologically prepared for the dog to become pregnant, and new life may come after two months.

• Sterilize as soon as possible. Sterilization can reduce the risk of breast cancer, uterine cancer, pyometra, and ovarian cancer in female dogs (all good in short), and it can also reduce the number of stray dogs. It is generally best to sterilize before the first heat.
• Use special physiological pants for dogs. It can ensure a clean home environment and avoid pregnancy, and can be transformed with children's diapers or human underwear. The amount of aunt will gradually decrease on the 13th day, but it is recommended to keep the aunt's towel until the 21st day.
• Birth control pills. There is no official dog contraceptive production in China. A group of scientists in Arizona, USA, developed a contraceptive for dogs of the Indian people (they have too many wild dogs). It is said that this drug can effectively reduce spawning. The quantity, in the test, this drug has been able to prevent the next generation of dogs, the side effects are not clear.
